As part of Thepeer's rebranding efforts, the Geneza team created a new identity system that emphasized the brand's high-quality, vibrancy, stability, and customer focus. This necessitated a change from the prior, conservative brand designs to one that was more vivid, more memorable, and more clearly defined.
For clear and concise brand messaging and to maintain Thepeer's reputation for exceptional quality, Geneza created a custom typeface called Thepeer Sans. Thepeer Sans is a unique font that is hand-drawn, neat, and has each letter crafted in a geometric, san-serif structure that is simple to read and pleasing to the eye.

According to Disrupt Africa, Africa's fintech industry grew by 17.3% in 2022. Despite the competition, the bulk of fintech companies currently in existence provide services to both businesses and consumers, including payments, neobanking, lending, investment, and trading. While companies may offer digital wallets to assist with money transfers, there is friction and a lack of compatibility when moving money from one fintech wallet to another fintech or non-fintech wallet.
Peerless Innovation
Thepeer was established in 2021 as a result of creators Kosisochukwu Chike Ononye and Michael "Trojan" Okoh's personal experience with the issues that consumers and businesses face because of the lack of a simple infrastructure for digital wallet payments and transfers.
Thepeer is exclusively dedicated to offering a quick and dependable payment experience for businesses and their consumers. Thepeer has grown to become a top payment processor in 2023, offering a secure and dependable solution for businesses to take payments online using digital wallets and neo-banks. Developing user-friendly consumer solutions and robust developer APIs to unify Africa, one business at a time, and making it simple for these companies to handle payments swiftly and effectively.
As part of Thepeer's rebranding efforts, the Geneza team created a new identity system that emphasized the brand's high-quality, vibrancy, stability, and customer focus. This necessitated a change from the prior, conservative brand designs to one that was more vivid, more memorable, and more clearly defined.
Vibrant, Seamless Technology
A significant change in the brand's appearance was a crucial component of this rebranding effort. Geneza chose to experiment with a wide spectrum of hues that are uncommon in the financial ecosystem but are also not wholly out of place since it was aware of how crucial and strategically essential colors are to brand positioning and exposure. Thepeer Black, Blue, Orange, Pink, Sky-blue, and Green were selected as the brand's colors in order to symbolize the brand's vigor, commitment to growth, and customer diversity.
Early on, Geneza recognized that Thepeer was not your typical fintech startup. Instead, it straddled the line between finance and data, making it easier for businesses to send and receive money digitally while also giving them access to consumer spending information, which helps them better understand and relate to their customers. A key component of what Thepeer stands for is interdependence, and Geneza decided to highlight this in the new logotype.
The team deployed a modern sans-serif wordmark design while looping the double 'E' in the brand name to suggest a seamless link between businesses and customers. The result is a distinctive identity that highlights at first glance the connectivity made possible by the brand's digital architecture. Additionally, the looped, double ‘E’ can serve as a stand-alone icon.
Distinctive, Tailor-made User-Experience
Geneza used a lively, contemporary, and human-centered photography approach for the brand in order to build a bold and self-assured identity in accordance with Thepeer's innovative and empathetic culture. recognizing the critical function that photography plays in promoting a brand's values and personality, exhibiting its products, and also honoring its customers. Thepeer's distinctive position in the finance ecosystem is furthered by genuine photographs of real people with real stories.
For clear and concise brand messaging and to maintain Thepeer's reputation for exceptional quality, Geneza created a custom typeface called Thepeer Sans, Thepeer Sans is a unique font that is hand-drawn, neat, and has each letter crafted in a geometric, san-serif structure that is simple to read and pleasing to the eye. We selected Satoshi, an attractive and contemporary Swiss-style sans serif, as the secondary typeface. Satoshi plays with graceful rounded curves and sharp angular elements. Together, these fonts convey the brand's authority and practical quality while also representing the technique and meticulous attention to detail that distinguishes it from the normally bland and repetitious fintech presentations.
Thepeer's brand is made more approachable by the illustrations, while accessibility and navigation are aided by the distinctive graphic iconography.
Customer-Focused Solutions
Thepeer's new identity, while designed to have the greatest impact on digital platforms, is highly adaptable and can be used for publications of various sizes, positioning the brand as progressive and trustworthy while also being highly visible and appealing to a wide range of businesses and clients who value Thepeer's alternative network that facilitates the easy movement of money.
